The interior minister, Ambrose Dery, declared September 21 to be a legal public holiday.
It has been designated as a day of remembrance for Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Mr. Dery said in a statement on Monday, September 19, that the day should be recognized as such across the country.
“The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 21st September, 2022 which marks Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.” he stressed.
