Simbiatu “Simbi” Abisola Abiola Ajikawo was born to Nigerian parents in Islington, London.
She is a rapper, singer, and actor from Britain. Her first three albums, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons (2015), Stillness in Wonderland (2016), and Grey Area, were independently released and helped her gain notoriety (2019).
Sometimes I Might Be Introvert (2021), her fourth album, was widely praised by critics and was named the greatest album of 2021 by various magazines.

Simz’s acting career got started in 2010[15] when she played Vicky in the BBC children’s series Spirit Warriors and Meleka in the E4 drama Youngers. [16] She served as the narrator for the television program Afrofuturism[17] and as Shelley in the Netflix relaunch of Top Boy and third season, which debuted in the fall of 2019. [18] She sang her song Venom in a nightclub while making an appearance as herself in the Sony/Marvel movie Venom – Let There Be Carnage.
She calls her music experimental and rap.

She released her second studio album, Stillness in Wonderland, on December 16, 2016. [25] It was backed by a comic book, art exhibition, and festival and was motivated by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. [26] She was the vocalist for the song “Garage Palace,” which appears on the Super Deluxe edition of the band Gorillaz’s album Humanz, and she played as the opening act for Gorillaz during their Humanz Tour in 2017.
Simz releases her songs under the exclusive distribution license agreement with AWAL Recordings through her own record label, Age 101 Music.
[8] After AWAL published Simz’s debut album “A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons” in 2015, Simz and her label AGE 101 struck a global agreement with the label on September 6, 2018[27]. It was extended to June 18, 2020. [28]
In addition to receiving positive reviews, her 2019 studio album Grey Area was also shortlisted for the Mercury Prize[29] and the IMPALA’s European Independent Album of the Year Award (2019). [30]
Her fourth studio album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, was released on September 3, 2021. It debuted at number four on the UK album charts and won the BBC 6 Album of the Year award.
