With effect from Thursday, October 20, 2022, President Buhari has revoked MEffing Akwa’s appointment as the Niger Delta Development Commission’s interim administrator.
This information was revealed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs on October 20 that was signed by Patricia Deworitshe, Director (Press).
Deworitshe further stated that in accordance with Section 5(2) of the NDDC Act, 2000, Buhari has given his approval for the formation of a new Management Team and Governing Board for the NDDC.
The announcement stated, in part, that “Akwa was appointed interim administrator of the Commission for the duration of the forensic audit of the activities of the NDDC, which has now finished.”
Deworitshe added that, in accordance with section 5(2) of the NDDC Act, 2000, President Buhari has given his approval for the creation of a new management team and governing board for the NDDC.
The National Assembly will receive the names of the candidates for the new management team and Governing Board for approval, according to the statement.
