In the Qatari capital Doha, Morocco supporters gathered on Thursday (Oct. 20) to cheer for their team near the clock that counts down to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Without a doubt, Moroccan fans in Qatar are preparing for the World Cup with team anthems and uniforms.
With less than a month till the 22nd FIFA tournament begins, fans gathered on Thursday beside the countdown clock on Corniche Road in Doha.
“We are really excited to welcome our team”, Karim shared.
“We hope we can see them in the semi-finals or finals; why not? This really affects us, we are ready to support our country with our best.”
In Group F, the Atlas Lions will compete against Canada, Belgium, and Croatia.
Early in September, a new head coach was chosen to guide the group. The team’s sixth appearance in the competition is eagerly anticipated by the crowd.
“I am very happy because our team is participating in the World Cup, the Moroccan audience is very excited and we are gathered here”, Ana said.
The world cup will begin on November 20 at the 60 000-seat Al Bayt Stadium.
The Doha region will host all 64 of the 32 teams’ games over the period of 29 days.
The opening match for Morocco will happen on November 23. One of the five African nations that made it into the greatest football competition is the team.
