Bashir Ahmad, the Special Adviser to President Buhari on New Media, used his Twitter account this afternoon, October 22, to make fun of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, for allegedly giving thousands of flood victims in Anambra state thousands of relief items on Saturday, October 22.
In order to express sympathy to the victims of the devastating floods, Obi, the previous governor of the state, visited the affected areas.
Bashir hinted in a message he shared on his Twitter account that the supplies Obi purportedly provided for relief efforts pale in comparison to the number of people in need.
Bashir wrote;
”Wow. Four bags of rice, 14 cartons of indomie noodles, around 50 set of blankets, 24 loaves of bread, a generator among other unverified stuff donated to thousands of families affected by floods in Anambra by a former governor of the state and a current presidential candidate.”
His tweet sparked comments, with many denouncing him for downplaying Mr. Obi’s assistance to the victims. Others questioned Obi about what he and his principles had given to the flood victims, while some claimed that he had not made the donations Bashir had mentioned. View the responses below.
