The case concerning Aisha Huang, a Chinese national accused of engaging in unlawful mining and immigration offenses, has been postponed by the Criminal High Court, presided over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, until 2 November 2022.
The absence of the Chinese interpreter, who helps the court communicate with the accused, caused the case to be postponed.
The state, represented by Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, stated that clerks from the AG’s office were at the court registry completing the filing processes for the documents they intended to rely on to pursue their case. As a result, the court deferred the proceeding.
Captain (rtd) Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey, Aisha Huang’s attorney, was unable in securing bail for his client once more.
The conditions for the refusal of bail have not changed, thus Justice Lydia Osei Marfo’s court stated that it will have none of that.
