President Akufo-Addo spent some time discussing the necessity for all Ghanaians to take action to safeguard the Ghana cedi, which has been experiencing significant devaluation against the US dollar, in his speech on the state of the economy.
Fellow Ghanaians, as the French would say, l’argent n’aime pas le bruit, to wit, money does not like noise, sika mp dede. This is what Akufo-Addo said in an attempt to support his position.
“Where there is chaos, where there is noise, where there is unrest, you will not find money. If you talk down your money, it will go down. If you allow some unidentifiable person to talk down your money, it will go down,” he stressed.

The adage has gained popularity on social media, where users have been making fun of it, deconstructing it, and offering their own interpretations.
