According to reports, the famed Nigerian singer David Adeleke’s and his partner Chioma’s son has passed away.
Ayo Makun, better known by his stage name AY, an accomplished comedian, announced the news on Instagram in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
The small child, who had just celebrated his third birthday, was said to have perished in a pool on Monday night, according to information received.
When Ifeanyi arrived at the Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi, he was immediately pronounced dead.
It was said that young Ifeanyi drowned in the family pool and was under water for a while before he was discovered and rushed to the hospital.
Makun wrote in the post, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair and tragic. This hits me so bad.”
Reaching the Lagoon Hospital was unsuccessful as of the time this report was filed.
It was discovered that many of the individuals who were at Davido’s home at the time of the incident had been detained.
The distraught musician reportedly had to be escorted from the hospital where his “late” son had been flown to his father’s home.
Nigerians, however, have gone to their various social media accounts to pray for the family and express their desire for the rumours to be false.
Stefflon Don, a British rapper and singer also known by her professional name Stephanie Victoria Allen, prayed for the musician on her verified Twitter account. “Prayers for Davido and Chioma,” she tweeted.
Another user of the microblogging app, @CruzNwachukwu wrote, “Until Davido tweets about it, I’m not believing anything God abeg oh, Ifeanyi can’t be gone so soon.”(sic)
Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed also tweeted, “I pray what we hearing about Davido’s son tonight is not true.”
However, some tweeps are saying the three-year-old is alive.
The Twitter user Gbosewo Of Lagos via his handle @gbosewo407 stated that the young lad is fine as he has spoken with Davido. He wrote, “But people sha, always fast to spread bad news I just spoke with @davido now and he confirmed Infeayi is very fine now and still receiving treatments.”(sic)
