A member of the Hogbetsotso Planning Committee revealed what he thinks caused Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president, to receive jeers over the weekend in the Volta Region.
Before the Vice President arrived, viewers were warned not to “embarrass any invited dignitary,” according to Agbotadua Kumasah.
However, Mr. Kumasah claimed that the audience lost control when Dr. Bawumia started recounting some fictitious accomplishments that the current administration had racked up.
“When the Asantehene and Kwahumahene spoke, people applauded them. When he [Bawumia] started speaking, he talked about the unity between the Anlos and the Asanteman. And the people were enjoying and even clapping for him. But when he mentioned the economic situation that is when the trouble started.” he told Emefa Apawu.
