Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra state, has declared his support for All Progressives Grand Alliance presidential candidate Justic Peter Umeadi (APGA).
Peter Obi, a presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has received no endorsement from Soludo.
He claims that the Obidient Movement is a Peoples Democratic Party spinoff (PDP).
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, said that APGA is still the third-largest political party in the nation in a statement by his Special Adviser on Political Matters.
By allocating its presidency to the North, the major opposition party, in Soludo’s opinion, did not treat the Southeast fairly. And that supporting any other party could harm APGA’s chances in the general election of 2023.
He said: “APGA remains the third largest political party in Nigeria, considering the number of political offices it has won.
“APGA has a State governor, members of the National Assembly and members of the state assemblies.
“APGA does not consider the wave of the ‘Obidient Movement’ as a threat towards achieving its set goals in 2023.
“The LP and the ‘Obidient Movement’ are offshoots of the PDP. Therefore, they pose a big threat to PDP, not APGA”.
Soludo, who won the Anambra governorship election in November, 2021, contested under the platform of APGA.
