In response to a viral video in which some students were seen cursing and abusing President Akufo-Addo, Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson gave her opinion.
The group of females, identified as second-year students from Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District, were heard criticising the president in a manner that has been called absolutely “disrespectful” in a 25-second video that has gone viral on social media.
Since then, the aforementioned video has drawn criticism from a significant portion of the populace, including the Ghana Education Service, which later condemned the act and apologized to the president in a press release shared on social media.
“Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) condemns this unfortunate act which is against every educational and moral principle in our society. We wish to also assure the general public that the outcome of the investigations will be more known as soon as it is concluded,” parts of the statement read.
However, Lydia Forson is of the opinion that the kids’ behaviour is the result of picking up undesirable practises from well-known Ghanaian leaders through time.
Lydia emphasised in a lengthy series of Twitter tweets that certain government representatives, including lawmakers, lack the moral authority to reprimand these pupils because they have set a poor moral example.
