FIFA has received a petition following the controversial penalty awarded to Portugal by referee Ismail Elfath.

The penalty should have been awarded, as many Ghanaians and football fans around the world, including EPL referee Mike Dean, feel, and Alidu Seidu’s yellow card was debatable.

When it mattered most, referee Ismail Elfath made poor decisions that left the Blackstars feeling defeated. Players asked referee Ismail Elfath to reconsider his decision, but he chose not to use the VAR.

The performance of Ismail Elfath should be evaluated by FIFA. FIFA makes technological investments to improve on-field decisions.

Additionally, VAR referees ought to be suspended for negligence.
