Wizkid, a Grammy-winning singer from Nigeria, ignited a conversation on the internet when he said that rap was extinct.

The rapper gained notoriety after a number of Nigerian rappers took offence at his statement and took to social media to respond. Rappers who responded to Wizkid’s assertion that rap is dead include Blaqbonez, YCee, Ladi Poe, and Erigga, to mention a few.

The Essence crooner taunted the rappers for not yet releasing any rap song even 48 hours after his controversial statement. Not stopping there, the music star even called them dumb fvcks. He wrote: “48hrs still no rap song? Lol y’all dumb fvcks!”
