In order to demonstrate African unity and brotherhood, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that his nation will assist the Republic of Burundi with its gasoline crisis problems.
Evariste Ndayishimiye, the special envoy of Burundi’s president, arrived with a message, and according to Femi Adesina, the president’s special adviser for media and publicity, Buhari offered the assurance on January 3 at State House in Abuja.
In the spirit of African unity and brotherhood, Adesina claimed that Buhari gave Niyonzima the assurance that Nigeria will support the Republic of Burundi in a variety of ways as needed.
President Buhari responded to the Burundian leader’s call for fuel assistance by saying that he is familiar with how it feels for a nation to experience an energy scarcity.
The proposal from Burundi comes as Nigeria struggles with a petroleum shortage that has persisted since December 2022.
Burundi’s Hon. Audace Niyonzima, Minister of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, said his President wished Nigerians a happy new year.
“We pray that the polls would be peaceful and successful, so that Nigeria would maintain her reputation as a bastion of peace and stability,” the Special Envoy said.
