On Saturday, the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs travelled to Cotonou, Benin, with the goal of fostering trade and business relations between the two nations.
Following recent commemoration of 50 years of bilateral collaboration, Qin Gang paid a visit.
According to Qin, he came to “find more fields of action.“
“I am thinking for example of infrastructure, agriculture, human resources training, manufacturing and peace and security,” he added.
The minister also went to Glo-Djigbé to see how textiles are made.
China and Benin will commemorate their 50 years of bilateral cooperation in December 2022, and this visit will mark the beginning of a new strategy to strengthen China’s ties to Benin.
A memorandum of understanding on the partial forgiveness of debt was signed by both nations during Qin’s visit.
