After Shatta Wale referred to the rapper’s appearance on Bob Marley’s new version of Stir It Up as “featuring a ghost,” Sarkodie finally reacts.
Sarkodie claims he saw Shatta Wale’s comment as a praise, despite the majority of people believing it was awful.
Sarkodie’s inclusion in the renowned Bob Marley and the Wailers remix song has been one of Ghana’s biggest musical achievements. Many people involved in the music industry, those who enjoy music, and members of the general public have expressed their opinions, including Shatta Wale, who said in an interview that it “features a ghost.” Read here
Sarkodie responded to a fan who asked how he felt about Shatta Wale’s comment during a Twitter Space session: “That’s not bad. That’s a compliment.”
Sarkodie warned his fan base not to lose sight of his accomplishment as he continued to discuss this important time in Ghana’s musical history.
He thanked them for their support during his career and urged them to look beyond Sarknative to understand the significance of the feature for all musicians and Ghanaians.
“I think the distraction is when something bigger and huge way more than us happen because it goes beyond Sarkodie. This is not a Sarkodie project. This is not a Shatta Wale project. This is for everybody who can get something out of this. So we don’t have to disrupt the goal and take it to a place we don’t want it to go.”
Stir It Up by Bob Marley and the Wailers with Sarkodie was released on January 20, 2023. It is currently YouTube’s most popular music video.
Sarkodie, an inhabitant of Ghana in West Africa and a member of the Akan ethnic tribe, performed rap verses in both English and Twi.
