Tiwa Savage, a well-known afrobeat musician, has discussed why Nigerian artists are succeeding so well abroad and breaking down barriers in the business.
The singer claims that Nigerian musicians are strong and naturally hardworking.
I don’t know, Nigerians are so…, Tiwa remarked. We work hard and are tough. Additionally, I believe that the name of the genre—afrobeat—and the fact that Fela Kuti is considered to be its “godfather” are both possible explanations.
When asked how she wanted to be remembered, she continued by saying that she wanted to be known as a flag bearer and as an African woman who didn’t give up when she was rejected.
