On January 22, 2023, Kennedy Agyapong, a prospective flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), attended a service with other worshippers at the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, a Christian organization created and presided over by Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah.

Kennedy Agyapong, who was granted the chance to preach to the congregation, based his sermon on the Bible’s assertion that false prophets will proliferate during the end times.

The legislator from Assin Central mentioned a 2019 campaign he launched against some Christian leaders who were posing as prophets and whom he regarded to be charlatans.

Kennedy Agyapong explained that he was doing what a good Christian should do, which is exposing persons whose activities cause dishonor to the faith, and claimed that some Christians mistook his fight as one against the Christian faith.

He made it clear that while he reveres the Bible and considers himself a devoted Christian, he will not stand by while others defraud people in the name of religion.

“The poem Reverend Owusu Bempah picked is the one I aim to teach on. I launched a crusade in 2019 to expose false prophets and pastors. When I visited specific churches, the pastors informed me that I was the anti-Christ because some of the affected people had been teaching that I was.

“Reverend Owusu Bempah’s topic demonstrates what I was attempting to do. First Kings 19:24–40, which discusses Elijah and the Prophets of Baal, is my opening verse. The events we are going through are exactly what the end times entail.

We have both good and bad prophets. The disciples similarly requested that Jesus teach them how to pray. Reverend Owusu Bempah should be questioned about how to spot trustworthy prophets. If he had been lying, I would have revealed it, but his subject is related to mine. He has demonstrated the distinction between false prophets and real ones, the man claimed. Kennedy Agyapong paid a similar visit to the Parliament House Chapel a few weeks prior to his current visit to the Glorious Word Power Ministry International.

Kennedy Agyapong paid a visit to the Prophet Amoako Atta’s church on December 31, 2022. Amoako Atta is known for making the prophecy that the Assin Central MP will one day be in charge of the nation’s affairs.

Kennedy Agyapong, following Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on December 25, 2022, is the second prominent NPP figure to pay a visit to Reverend Owusu Bempah’s church.
