Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has come under new attack from Twene Jonas, who calls him an incompetent leader.
He believed it was useless for the king to wear pricey golden jewels when his subjects endured extreme suffering and poverty.
Otumfuo, according to Twene Jonas, should put his energy towards improving his immediate surroundings by investing the money he receives from selling the gold in Kumasi and the Ashanti Kingdom.
Twene Jonas berated efforts made to organize the huge Akwasidae Festival rather than turning Kumasi into a megacity on social media.
“It is useless to be a King who only dresses up for a festival in gold while your people have not benefitted from the sale of gold,” Twene Jonas fired.
Idris Elba, a British actor, was the celebrity guest at the Akwasidae Festival last weekend.
