George Oppong Weah, the president of Liberia, has sent a delegation to console the bereaved family of Christian Atsu.

He gave the Atsu family a $10,000 donation on February 22, 2023.

The word from Oppong Weah was delivered to the Twasam family by a group headed by former Ghanaian footballer Pastor Kwame Ayew.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, also expressed sympathy to Christian Atsu’s family earlier in the day.

Christian Atsu’s family house was visited by Mubarak Wakaso’s family to express their condolences.

The two athletes had a wonderful rapport while they were Black Stars teammates.

On February 6, 2023, a horrific 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck sections of Turkey and Syria claimed the life of the 31-year-old football player.

This Sunday, February 19, 2023, the body of the late Atsu was delivered to Ghana from Turkey.

After an 11-story building collapsed on Atsu and others in Turkey, his lifeless body was pulled from the debris.
