A spectacular incident recently occurred in Warren Park, Harare, Zimbabwe, when a mob of Apostolic Church followers ambushed two individuals who were brandishing a gun and threatening a well-known priest named Madzibaba Moses.
According to ZimLive, Madzibaba Moses, actual name Lloyd Gwasira, was serving faithful church members door-to-door in Warren Park at the time of the event. He frequently travels with a group of other apostolic church members acting as bodyguards due to his popularity in Harare.
He was moving around when two ex-members of the church crept up on him, brandishing a gun in a show of force. As they left Madzibaba Moses’ well-liked church in Highfields, the two men said that he was bewitching them and was resentful of them.
About five of Madzibaba Moses’ bodyguards seized on them and began striking them before the enraged former church members fired the gun.
Even a bystander who attempted in vain to break up the fight failed. The second man attempted to run away, but was pulled back by the churchgoers who kept pounding them. Madzibaba Moses watched from a distance as his supporters engaged in a “holy war” for him while the drama played out.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police have now detained the two guys and charged them with brandishing a firearm.
