The star-studded cast of South African rapper AKA’s posthumous album, Mass Country, now includes musician Gyakie.
The album was made available on February 24, 2023.
The album described as a “parting gift” and “love letter to South Africa,” displays AKA’s affection for his own country and the variety of musical styles present there.
Khuli Chana, Blxckie, Nadia Nakai, Emtee, Yanga Chief, Sjava, and a host of other South Africa’s biggest hip-hop artists are all featured on it.
A pre-released single called “Paradise,” which also features Musa Keys, is Gyakie’s contribution to the album. AKA sings and raps about everything he would do and has done for the love of his life in this song about love.
AKA gushed about Gyakie’s vocals in a 2022 Guide Radio interview.
Later that year, the pair put the song together while Gyakie was in South Africa on one of her visits. While there, she played at the Homecoming Festival and was awarded a double platinum certification certificate for her 2021 hit, Forever.
Gyakie has become well-known for her extraordinary talent and distinctive sound in the African music industry. In the world of music, she is progressing and breaking down barriers.
She has previously worked with a South African musician. She also contributed to a Major League DJz song.
The song “Mass Country,” which was posthumously published in the wake of AKA’s horrific shooting a few weeks ago, features AKA together with Nasty C, Khuli Chana, Nadia Nakai, and other notable figures in the South African music industry.
