Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party (LP), has once more referred to the presidential election on February 25 as the worst in the country’s history.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to Obi, flagrantly violated the 2022 electoral legislation during the election’s administration, likely making it the worst vote in the nation’s history.
The former governor of Anambra State reportedly disclosed these during a Monday visit on the morning show of Arise Television.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman, failed to deliver on his repeated assurances that the election would be the best thing to happen to Nigeria, according to Obi.
He said: “If you look at the last election, it is probably the worst election, considering in this particular republic, the 2022 electoral law which was meant to improve our overall election process was abused and continued and consistent promises by the chairman of INEC that this is going to the best thing that will happen to Nigeria.”
The former governor of Anambra State has already sued the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to challenge the election’s results.
