General Muhoozi Kainerugaba of Uganda has called the destruction of Libya in 2011 by western superpowers a crime against humanity.
The son of the president of Uganda, Muhoozi, tweeted his opinions on March 13, 2023.
He criticized unnamed western powers for criticizing the Democratic Republic of the Congo insecurity ‘s despite their involvement in Libya and urged Africa to save Libya from collapse.

“The destruction of Libya by the West in 2011, is the biggest crime against humanity of the 21st Century! Yet the same people have the gall to talk about M23 in DRC? Africa must rescue Libya (fellow Africans) from collapse,” his tweet read.
After Gaddafi was removed from power and the national government overthrown in 2011, NATO-backed rebels left Libya in a condition of insecurity.
There have been various attempts over the past ten years to form a government to run the affairs of the nation, which at one point was split between competing factions in the East and a government in Tripoli that had support from abroad.
President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, who is on record as claiming that Africa failed the late Libyan leader by remaining silent as foreigners overthrew him, is one African leader who has persistently bemoaned the inability of Africans to defend Gaddafi.
