Russia mocks the US with a video Kenyan presidentThe Russian embassy in Kenya has made fun of the US over what it claims is the US dollar’s waning power.
In a tweet that was published by the embassy, President William Ruto urged individuals who are saving money to consult with themselves since he was about to make a significant choice.
“For the people who work numbers, I am giving you free advice that those of you who are hoarding dollars, you shortly might get into losses.
“You better do what you must do because this market is going to be different in a couple of weeks,” Ruto stated in the video of their March 24 tweet.
Petrodollars are American dollars made from sales of petroleum products abroad. For the majority of nations in the world, the dollar is the primary medium of exchange when buying petroleum goods.
According to recent reports, Kenya experienced a currency crisis that even Tanzania’s president Samia Suluhu Hassan criticized in a speech on International Women’s Day:
“Let no one lie to you (Tanzanians). We are at a better place compared to our neighbours. Their dollar reserves cannot last a week, our reserves can push us for four months. They are here begging us for guarantees so that they can buy fuel.”
On the other side, Russia and the US are engaged in a covert conflict over US support for Ukraine in a conflict Putin started against its neighbour in 2022.
While Moscow and Washington increasingly turn to China for economic cooperation to challenge America’s and the EU’s financial hegemony, their ties have gotten worse.
