According to former president John Mahama, the NDC would not permit the governing NPP to rig the 2024 general elections.
He claimed that the NDC’s grassroots had done a great job of safeguarding the voting boxes.
Mr. Mahama advised party members to exercise caution throughout the election.
“The NPP should not even think of rigging the elections because the NDC would mark them boot for boot,” he said.
During his three-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region on Wednesday, Mr. Mahama spoke to party executives and delegates in the Eastern Region’s Abuakwa South, Abuakwa North, Fanteakwa South, and Fanteakwa North constituencies.
Several party veterans accompanied Mr. Mahama on his tour of the constituencies as he seeks the support of NDC delegates to lead the party in the 2024 presidential election.
They included Professor Joshua Alabi, Julius Debrah, a former chief of staff, and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a former national chairman of the NDC.
According to Mr. Mahama, the NDC was well-prepared to monitor the vote boxes on a mental, physical, and psychological level.
He pleaded with the electorate executives to stay steadfast and thwart any attempt by the NPP to rig the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Mahama added that the NDC would oppose any attempt to rig the polls by the NPP.
