A Nigerian music icon granted permission for a man who resembles him physically to sing one of his songs at a club.
Obo’s initiative comes at a time when certain lookalikes who have emerged on the scene are competing with Ghanaian celebs.
Many Ghanaian musicians have observed lookalikes of them singing their songs at gatherings and mimicking them.
The majority of these musicians have publicly and privately voiced their anger with the lookalikes who are capitalizing on their celebrity to pursue power.
Davido, though, doesn’t seem to care at all. In fact, he has blessed his impersonator and exhorted him to shine.
The club’s “Unavailable” performance by him was approved for Obi Cubana’s birthday celebration. Davido joined in to watch his performance with his team.
After the performance, he expressed his gratitude by writing: “Wow thanks ? to God I finally see @davido at @obi_cubana birthday ? @davido say make i perform unavailable for him cheee I don blow“.
