On property owned by a Kenyan pastor who was detained for advising his followers to fast themselves to death, 21 dead have so far been discovered.
On the property owned by pastor Paul Makenzi, who was detained on April 14 due to connections to cultism, other shallow graves, according to the police, have not yet been unearthed.
Khalid Hussein, a human rights advocate with Haki Africa, said: “We can’t have people who just wake up one day in the name of a calling, to push people down a path towards suicide.
Every temple, synagogue, mosque, and church must be a part of a registered structural framework.
Four more people passed away after it was determined that they were malnourished at the Good News International Church.

A member of the public provided a tip that prompted the investigation.
“We are calling on multi agency team to come in and comb this 800 acres land,” added Hussein.
“The DCI homicide team are doing excellent work and they should be al lowed to continue with that work. But the police, they need support to comb this 800 acre piece of land, so that we can rescue more, and also maybe unearth more mass graves that could be in any of this area that we are in.”
