Burna Boy and Tems, two Grammy-winning Nigerian singers, made their debut on May 1 at the Met Gala, the most renowned and beautiful fashion event in the world.
The Met Gala honours the Costume Institute’s annual exhibitions while also raising money for the New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The topic for this year is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” which honours the late designer’s life and body of work. Dua Lipa, Roger Federer, Michaela Coel, Penelope Cruz, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are notable co-chairs of the 2023 occasion.
Lagerfeld, who is best known for his work as the creative director of Chanel among other critically acclaimed collaborations, was also recognized for his constantly changing signature look, which frequently featured suits with Edwardian and gothic influences and was accessorized with white collars, gloves, a ponytail, and other eye-catching items.
Tems wore a gown designed by Robert Wun. A corset-like top and elbow-length gloves accented the flowing dress. Dunsin Wright did her hair and makeup.
On the other side, Burna Boy wore a specially created Burberry kingly blue and black costume that also had a sense of royalty.
