The Canadian government introduced a new immigration law that allows travellers from a number of nations, including Morocco and the Seychelles, to enter without a visa.

11 additional nations from Asia, Africa, Central America, and South America are included in this expansion.

Ghana was denied admission to this expanded privilege. Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts-Nevis, Panama, Argentina, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Morocco, Seychelles, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Thailand, and the Philippines are among the nations that will profit from the new policy.

The expansion of the electronic travel authorization (eTA) initiative, according to Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, Sean Fraser, aims to make it easier for “known travelers” from the aforementioned nations to enter the country, whether they are doing so for pleasure or business.

In addition to improving convenience, this development encourages increased travel, tourism, economic gains, and closer international ties among the 13 participating countries.

For “known travelers” from these countries, Minister Fraser stressed the financial benefits as the visa exemptions can result in significant cost savings. Currently, a guest visa costs $500 for a household of five or more or $100 per person. An eTA, on the other hand, is only $7 per person and is good for up to five years.

The goal of Canada’s introduction of visa-free air travel is to simplify and speed up the procedure for thousands of visitors who want to stay up to six months in the nation for either business or pleasure.

The goal of this programme is to speed up, simplify, and lower the cost of travel to Canada for citizens of the 13 countries that were chosen, fostering closer links and facilitating more exchanges between Canada and these countries.
