A 26-year-old ICT and telecommunications graduate from Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Michael Kibet committed suicide as a result of unemployment.

The deceased, according to K24tv, allegedly committed suicide on June 8, 2023, at his brother’s compound after being unable to find employment.
Kibet earned his university degree in 2021.

Area Chief of Police David Rugut revealed that the deceased hanged himself outside of his brother’s house out of annoyance. Losing a capable worker and good student in the entire Chepsangor region destroyed his family.
Kibet lived with his mother, a widowed single mother and retired nurse, up to his passing. Since the death of her husband, she has been raising their children by herself.
