Yvonne Nelson Responds to Sarkodie’s Account, Demands Respect and Denounces Insults
Shortly after Sarkodie shared his version of events in an audio track posted on his YouTube page, detailing the abortion of a pregnancy he had with Yvonne Nelson in 2010, the actress and author took to Twitter to deliver her response.
Sarkodie Reveals: I Advised Yvonne to Keep the Pregnancy, but She Opted for Abortion
Yvonne Nelson firmly stated, “Insults won’t work, Michael. Respect womanhood. I’m glad the world is witnessing your actions and the real you. Young women can learn from this. Your rap may receive applause, but it doesn’t change the TRUTH.”
She accused Sarkodie of attempting to use his craft to undermine the pain she experienced as a young woman. Yvonne Nelson further expressed her discontent by stating, “In my book, I narrated how you got me pregnant, how you couldn’t wait for me to get rid of it. How you DROVE me to have an abortion. As usual, you want to use rap to diminish the pain a young woman felt. We both have daughters, let’s see what life throws at them. #triedyou.”
Sarkodie had been the subject of significant attention throughout the previous week after being mentioned in Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.’ The actress provided her account of how Sarkodie impregnated her but then requested she terminate the pregnancy because he was young and unprepared to be a father.
Yvonne also recounted being driven to the clinic for the procedure, only to be left alone to deal with the associated pain without any support from Sarkodie.
