Since the publication of Yvonne Nelson’s autobiography, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” Ghanaian musician Mzbel has made a provocative declaration regarding whether she will follow the actress and filmmaker in publishing a memoir.
She emphasised on the United Showbiz Show that while everyone has a tale to tell, she chooses not to because doing so would bring many people from Ghana into the picture.
We all have a tale to tell, but I don’t have one to tell, Mzbel said in response. If I were to write my story, it would contain the names of numerous Ghanaian citizens.
The female performer made only passing mention of some of the events that have influenced her life, such as a performance she gave at Tech’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
She made references to the unpleasant interactions and harassment she endured during that time, which prompted her to seek counselling and therapy to deal with the fallout. She also made references to incidents with armed robbers, suggesting that she had been the target of assassination attempts.
“From the time I had a show at Tech (KNUST) and what people didn’t to me, the counselling and therapy I had to be to do; the subsequent attempts of armed robbers on me; how the media reported the sad incident at Tech,” she added.
While Mzbel acknowledged that everyone has their own stories to share, she insinuated that the revelations within her own story would involve numerous individuals, potentially implicating a significant portion of Ghana’s population.
Additionally, she brought up the media’s coverage of a sad incident at Tech, suggesting that the reporting may not have accurately depicted the full extent of the situation.
“We all have a story to tell, we won’t be done should I start? The whole of Ghana will be in there,” she stated.
