The appeal submitted by Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, contesting President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election has been placed on hold by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
In their final written statement, dated July 20, Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti-Ahmed described why Tinubu should be disqualified from the election.
A five-member panel of judges, chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani, informed candidates for the Labour Party that the court would announce a date for its decision after adjourning it earlier in the Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, challenge against the same election.
