A taxi operator has been formally accused under the Sexual Offences Act for allegedly forcefully entering a woman’s residence and sexually assaulting her.
As reported by authorities from the St. Mary Police Division, Kevin Broomfield, aged 45 and known as ‘Phoenix’, a taxi operator hailing from Content in St. Ann, purportedly gained access to the complainant’s apartment on August 17. An altercation ensued, during which the victim was subjected to physical assault, leading to her losing consciousness.
Subsequently, she realized that she had been sexually assaulted. The incident was reported to law enforcement, leading to Broomfield’s apprehension.
Broomfield has been charged with multiple offenses, including rape, buggery, burglary, and assault resulting in bodily harm. Following a formal questioning session, he was subsequently charged.
The specifics of his court appearance are currently being arranged.
