Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Russian mercenary group Wagner, has released his initial recruitment video since orchestrating a short-lived rebellion against Russian defense authorities. This update emerged via Russian social media platforms.

In the video, the 62-year-old leader of the mercenary outfit discusses the Wagner Group’s engagement in reconnaissance and search missions, aiming to “enhance Russia’s influence across all continents, particularly in Africa, fostering greater freedom.”

Prigozhin, seen dressed in military attire and holding an assault rifle, affirms their recruitment of robust individuals while maintaining their commitment to fulfilling the assigned missions they have undertaken.

The authenticity of the video, which depicts Prigozhin against a backdrop of gray and brown hues alongside individuals in military fatigues and pickup trucks, cannot be independently confirmed by the Associated Press.

Reports from Russian social media channels connected to Prigozhin suggest that he is recruiting mercenaries for African operations. Additionally, he is allegedly inviting Russian investors to contribute to the Central African Republic through an entity called Russian House, purportedly under Prigozhin’s influence.

Since 2014, the Wagner Group has operated as a mercenary force across Africa, acting as a tool used by the Kremlin to expand Russia’s presence in both the Middle East and Africa.
