Nana Appiah Mensah, often known as NAM1, was the troubled CEO of the now-defunct Menzgold Ghana and has claimed he lost everything in the Menzgold scandal—or at least more than anyone else.
NAM1 claimed that he was the largest loser in the scandal, which included allegations that he defrauded more than 15,000 Ghanaians.
In response to the accusations made against him, he made a plea for understanding on a Twitter platform run by Serwaa Amihere.
“If you want to crown the biggest loser in all of this thing, I am the one, because I lost everything: I lost all my properties and I don’t even have a car of my own in this country.”
After initiating a validation process for clients with locked-up funds in his business and charging them GH 650 for a Menzgold Traders Transactions Status Verification Access Card, NAM1 is now dealing with fresh criticism.
However, NAM1 backtracked on its appeals for customers to purchase the validation card and announced that those who had already paid the GH650 will receive a refund.
