Preliminary Results Revealed from NPP’s Super Delegates Congress Across 17 Centers
The initial outcomes of the Super Delegates Congress held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at 17 different locations distinctly indicate that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assumed a highly influential position.
A total of 961 delegates were afforded the opportunity to engage in this special event, with each region having an allocated number of representatives.
These handpicked delegates encompass significant figures within the party, namely those from the constituencies, regions, Members of Parliament, the diaspora, and leaders at the national level.
Aggregated data collected by reporters from Peacefm across various regions suggest that Dr. Bawumia garnered more votes than all the other contenders, in line with expectations. He secured 629 votes, constituting 67.9% of the valid votes cast.
Remarkably, his nearest rival emerged as Kennedy Agyapong, who seems to have surpassed Mr. Alan Kyerematen to clinch the second position.
The unconventional politician attained 132 votes from the Super Delegates, accounting for 14.3%, whereas Alan Cash received 95 votes (10.3%).
Dr. Afriyie Akoto claimed the fourth spot with 40 votes, translating to 4.3% of the valid votes cast.

Voting took place at 17 centers, with one center in each region. Notably, the Greater Accra Region accommodated two centers. Moreover, certain National Executives and members from the diaspora, among others, also participated in the voting process, culminating in a total vote count of 961.
