In order to safeguard Ghana’s economic future, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pleaded for spiritual assistance from the faithful of the Christian faith.
The president informed congregation members at the farewell ceremony for Rev. Dr. Seth Kissi, the outgoing chairperson of the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery of the Presbyterian church of Ghana, in Kyebi in the Eastern region, by repeating his biblical adage, “The battle is indeed the Lord’s.”
“I urge all of you gathered here to have same believe that the fortunes of Ghana under H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo will be assured. The battle is indeed the Lord’s,” he is quoted to have said.
Regarding the topic of economic recovery, he requested prayers for himself and his appointees so that they may work diligently to provide the necessary economic assistance that Ghanaians are seeking.
“Pray for me and the people I have appointed to various positions with responsibilities that we will continue to exercise our responsibilities with humility and integrity.
“Pray for Ghana that it remains united in peace and continues to thrive for progress and prosperity. I continue to abide in faith in the Almighty God to help advance the fortunes of our nation accompanied by appropriate policies, determination and hard work on our part,” Akufo-Addo stressed.
The announcement follows the president’s recent comments, which went viral, on how Ghana will get out of the current economic crisis.
Akufo-Addo stated to the media on August 26, 2023, at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters that a new NPP leader will rescue Ghana from the economic disaster that its people were going through.
