Tacha has criticised the Headies organisers for holding the award ceremony twice in the United States.

The Big Brother Naija star remarked in a video she shared that it was reasonable that the Headies were held in the US last year as Afrobeats was starting to gain popularity there.

The fact that the award ceremony is still being hosted in the United States, according to Tacha, is disrespectful.

Tacha compared it to the BET Awards and said that it would never take place in Africa. She also remembered that in the past, African musicians were given plaques backstage at the BET.

Tacha concluded by stating it is “colonial mentality” to think that the United States is the best place to host the Headies awards.
