In response to social media influencer Elorm Aba Ababio, commonly known as Ama Governor, being denied a call to the bar for a second time, well-known media personality Bridget Otoo aired her feelings.
Ama Governor’s attempt to be admitted to the bar has once more been unsuccessful as a result of the General Legal Council’s (GLC) conclusion that her public behaviour previous to submitting her application was dubious and did not live up to their expectations.
After all her efforts to get the call, Bridget Otoo remarked in response to the news that it was devastating for Ama Governor to be refused a call to the bar for a second time.
The media personality was absolutely shocked at the sight of the letter from the General Legal Council.
“Omg! This is heartbreaking,” Bridget Otoo wrote on her X page formally known as Twitter in reaction to Ama Governor’s denial to be called to the Bar.
Elorm Aba Ababio, a social media personality and aspiring attorney also known as Ama Governor, was twice rejected a call to the bar by the General Legal Council.
This occurred prior to the Call to the Bar event this year, which is set for Friday, October 20, 2023.
According to a letter seen, dated October 18, 2023, and signed by Justice Cyra Pamela C. A. Koranteng (JA); the Judicial Secretary, the Council’s assessment of Ms. Elorm Ababio’s behaviour prior to her application served as the basis for its judgement.
The General Legal Council had stated in a prior letter dated March 13, 2023, that they intended to monitor her behaviour throughout this time.
Following a meeting held on Tuesday, 17 October 2023 the General Legal Council resolved that Ms. Elorm Ababio’s application should be declined due to certain elements noted in her public conduct prior to the submission of her application.
The Council reached two decisions:
Ms. Elorm Ababio is permitted to complete the necessary forms for application to be Called to the Bar at any point in time after the 20 October 2023 event.
In the interim, the General Legal Council will continue to monitor Ms. Elorm Ababio’s conduct.
