Bail has been granted for singer Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry. A Magistrate court in Yaba issued them bail in the amount of N20 million with three responsible sureties in a decision made this morning, November 6.

The court ordered them to turn in their foreign passports and present every week at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as part of their bail requirements. They must also offer three sureties in an equivalent amount.

Additionally, the presiding magistrate issued a warning, stating that any attempts to get in touch with her directly will be noted and possibly made public during open court sessions.

Naira Marley and Sam Larry were placed under arrest by the police after being charged with violently attacking the late musician Mohbad. On October 4, 2023, a magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos State, remanded them in arrest due to accusations that they had harassed the late Mohbad, a former Marlian Music signee.

Sam Larry and Naira Marley sued the police and magistrate last Monday for their ongoing incarceration. The police and a magistrate were identified as defendants in the claim, which was brought before the Federal High Court in Lagos. The complaint’s damages request was N20 million for each of them.
