On Tuesday, South Africa’s Minister of International Relations, Naledi Pandor, asserted that nations should employ force to overcome Israel’s blockade hindering aid entry into Gaza. During a meeting with her Danish counterpart in Pretoria, the leaders discussed bilateral relations and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Pandor urged the leaders of powerful armed forces worldwide to instruct their soldiers to escort aid trucks through the Rafah border into Gaza and the West Bank. Emphasizing the close friendship between these forces and Israel, she expressed confidence in their safe passage without encountering resistance from Israeli forces.
In the context of South Africa accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued provisional orders regarding civilian protection and humanitarian assistance. However, Tel Aviv has disregarded these directives.
With more than 576,000 people in Gaza—equivalent to a quarter of the population—on the verge of famine, as reported by the U.N., Israel faces accusations of targeting aid deliveries, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of desperate Palestinians in recent days.
