South African sensation Tyla has decided to cancel her highly anticipated inaugural world tour just two weeks before its scheduled start. In a statement posted on her Instagram, Tyla revealed that her decision stems from the need to fully recover from a worsening injury she has been grappling with over the past year.
Despite seeking medical intervention, the artist conveyed that her condition has significantly deteriorated, leading her to make this challenging choice.
“I’ve silently battled an injury for the past year, and regrettably, it has worsened. Despite consulting with doctors and specialists with optimism, the pain has intensified, along with the severity of the situation. I am absolutely devastated to announce that, as of now, I won’t be able to proceed with the tour,” the statement conveyed without specifying the nature of the injury.
The Grammy winner, initially set to kick off her tour on March 21 in Oslo, the capital of Norway, clarified that “continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”
Ticket holders in North America can anticipate refunds, while Tyla plans to reschedule her tour dates in the UK and Europe.
