The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has reported the detection of twin rainstorms approaching the nation on Thursday, May 16th.

As per the morning forecast released on the same day, the first storm originating from Nigeria is expected to arrive around 9:30 am. Regions along the coast and in the north are anticipated to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by powerful winds and thunderstorms.

The statement elaborated, “A rainstorm generating moderate thunderstorms with precipitation over northern Benin extending into Togo is projected to move westward, impacting the northern regions of Ghana. Concurrently, a distinct rainstorm spotted over Nigeria is also predicted to advance westward, affecting coastal and central areas of the country.”
