South African singer Tyla has faced backlash for her comments on Twitter about Chidimma Adetshina, who recently withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition.
Tyla voiced her concerns over how Chidimma was treated in her home country and expressed disappointment over Miss Universe Nigeria’s invitation to Chidimma.
She also wished Chidimma success in her future endeavors.

Tyla’s tweet sparked controversy among South Africans, who accused her of misrepresenting their country.
In response to the backlash, Tyla followed up with another tweet expressing her support for South Africans.
She wrote:
“I will always stand with South Africa, i just feel regardless of the opinions…She was bullied and that’s what I don’t stand for.”
