Nigerians have started unfollowing Napoli and flocking to Galatasaray’s Instagram after Victor Osimhen’s successful transfer to the Turkish club.
The 25-year-old Nigerian international was sidelined by Antonio Conte during the summer after failed transfers to Chelsea and Al-Ahli. Despite last-minute efforts, Osimhen was excluded from Napoli’s squad following the chaotic deadline day.
Two days later, Galatasaray secured a loan deal with Napoli for Osimhen, agreeing to cover his full salary. On September 5, the Turkish champions officially signed Osimhen on a season-long loan, with a net salary of €6 million.
In response, Nigerians have been trolling and unfollowing Napoli on Instagram, upset with how the club handled Osimhen’s transfer. Meanwhile, Galatasaray has gained thousands of new followers on its social media platforms.
