President Akufo-Addo has asserted that his government has achieved 80% of the commitments outlined in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto.
During his tour of the Western North Region on Tuesday, November 5, Akufo-Addo highlighted his administration’s accomplishments and reiterated his dedication to fulfilling promises made to Ghanaians. He acknowledged that while not every pledge has been fully met, a significant majority of the manifesto’s goals have been realized.
He assured the residents of Western North that his government remains focused on advancing national development despite various challenges. Notably, he pointed to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy as a transformative achievement, emphasizing that since its 2017 launch, over 5.7 million students have gained access to secondary education, many of whom previously lacked the means to continue their studies.
Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support from the Western North Region, the President pledged to continue working toward the remaining objectives in areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture.
“I won’t claim to have fulfilled every promise, but I can confidently say we’ve delivered on 80%,” Akufo-Addo stated. “Prior to my presidency, over 100,000 students were unable to progress to SHS each year due to financial constraints. With Free SHS, we’ve dramatically transformed educational access in Ghana.”
