President Nana Akufo-Addo has voiced his unwavering support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a capable and experienced leader ready to propel Ghana to greater heights.
Akufo-Addo emphasized that Dr. Bawumia possesses the skills and vision needed to advance the nation’s development and urged Ghanaians to place their trust in his leadership.
In contrast, the President criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, branding him a failed leader whose previous term fell short of expectations.
Akufo-Addo argued that Ghana needs fresh leadership, highlighting Dr. Bawumia as the ideal candidate to build on the achievements of the current administration.
Addressing a gathering of professional groups in Kumasi on Sunday, November 24, Akufo-Addo stressed the critical role of the Ashanti Region in ensuring electoral success for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He urged the region to deliver a high voter turnout and rally behind Dr. Bawumia to secure victory in the 2024 elections.
Reflecting on the party’s 2008 loss, the President warned against repeating past mistakes, calling for unity and unwavering support for Dr. Bawumia to ensure a decisive win.
“We have two people who are in the race. One, a failed president and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. There are four other people who have had the blessing of the Almighty and the support of the people of Ghana to become presidents of Ghana.”
“Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Dramani Mahama, and myself. Of all these, Jerry John Rawlings had a second term, John Agyekum Kufuor had a second term, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had a second term.”
“The only one who was not given a second term was John Dramani Mahama and the reason is that he did a poor job,” he insisted.
