Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has called for an immediate halt to salary payments to the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral project.

He criticized the continued payment of salaries despite the project being stalled for over 30 months.

“The payment of salaries to the National Cathedral Board must cease. I don’t expect them to receive their November salaries. How can a Board for a project that has been inactive for 38 months still be receiving salaries?” Ablakwa remarked during The Key Points program on TV3, Saturday, November 30.

Additionally, he demanded the retrieval of $58 million already spent on the project.

This follows a recent report by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) regarding the project, which Ablakwa described as having significant implications.
